Submissions Now Open for the Worldwide Logo Design Annual

The new competition is an outgrowth of the European Logo Design Annual (Eulda).

Eulda was launched in 2006 as a graphic design award scheme to reward the best logos and trademarks designed in Europe. The competition has now been expanded to have an international scope and is known as Wolda, the Worldwide Logo Design Annual. The competition includes some new twists, such as categories for students and young designers, as well as the ability to submit not just individual logos but logo systems. Giving the awards scheme weight is its endorsement by over 80 international design associations and schools, and 17 media partners.

Retaining Eulda's unique approach to judging, winners will be selected by an international three-tier jury consisting of ten design professionals selected by Icograda, ten marketing managers representing major international clients selected by Aquent and ten members of the public, representing the ultimate target market of consumers, selected by Consumers International. The idea being that this represents the typical trajectory of a successful logo. That is, designers present a logo to a client, who decides what to present to the public, which in turn is responsible for whether a brand succeeds.

More information and submissions are available on the Wolda site, with the deadline for submissions being May 20, 2008.
