Total Training for Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended: Mastering Advanced Techniques

The new project-based training series is designed to give viewers a new appreciation of some of Photoshop's most creative tools.

Adobe Photoshop CS4 is a deep enough application that it can require years to really master all its functionality. Deeper again is the Extended version, which notably adds capabilities in the realm of 3D. Thus, a training title directed specifically at the advanced capabilities of CS4 Extended makes sense. Total Training has been around for some time, providing training videos both on DVD and via online subscription, with a focus on applications used by designers and site developers. Its latest title, Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended: Mastering Advanced Techniques, is the work of Brian Maffitt, who has been using Photoshop since the days of version 1 and has been involved in photo-manipulation techniques for the architecture, engineering and entertainment sectors.

The title, geared to intermediate to advanced users, provides five hours of training on such topics as the use of Smart Objects to organize projects; how to use Curves as an effective 3D modeling tool; techniques for importing complex 3D models and integrating them into a Photoshop 3D scene; and explanations of how in 32-bit space, color behaves like real-world light.

Adobe Photoshop CS4 Extended: Mastering Advanced Techniques for Mac and Windows can be purchased on the Total Training site for $99. It's also part of the Total Training Online offering, with a 14-day free guest pass providing access to a sample of the new Photoshop tutorials.
