PANTONE COLOR MANAGER Software Available as Public Beta

COLOR MANAGER is designed to update all of the PANTONE libraries, including the PLUS SERIES Colors, and make them ready to use in QuarkXPress, Corel and Adobe Creative Suite applications.

Currently available for Mac, with a Windows version on the way, COLOR MANAGER uses PANTONE PLUS Color Bridge values and will also build ICC profile-based device-specific CMYK recipes for any PANTONE Graphics library. The idea is that it simulates and helps users visualize spot versus four-color process, including display and print gamut warnings, to make it easier to identify any colors that cannot be properly printed on the target output device or properly displayed on the monitor.

COLOR MANAGER supports QuarkXPress 7 and 8, Corel applications and all Adobe Creative Suite versions of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. PANTONE Color libraries included are the PANTONE PLUS SERIES and the Pantone Goe System for multimedia and graphic design and, in future releases, the Pantone SMART System for Fashion + Home.

While COLOR MANAGER is said to be "a $49.95 value" it will be available free to all beta participants. The application is available for download on the site and requires a free myPANTONE membership.
