Adobe Updates Free Training Materials to Include CS6
Adobe provides a wide range of content for mastering its Creative Suite applications but one of the least well known resources are the three Adobe Digital Career Teaching Resources. These provide a project-based curriculum with the goal of developing skills in design, print production, web design, and career and communication skills in digital video production, not suprisingly based on Adobe tools. The three curricula align with the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for Students (2007) as well as the new Adobe Certified Associate Visual Communication objectives to prepare students for certification. While designed to be used in a classroom over a one-year period, they can also be employed by individuals who can work through them at their own speed.
Visual Design: Foundations of Design and Print Production is said to develop key digital communication skills, such as design, project management, and graphic and print technology, with each project, such as Collages And Photography, Logos and Business Cards, building on lessons learned previously. Digital Design: Foundations of Web Design focuses on design, project management and web technology, including such projects as Web Development and Deployment, Interactive Games and Mobile Applications. Digital Video: Foundations of Video Design and Production covers storytelling, capturing and editing video and audio, and finalizing content for DVD or web, through emphasis on design, communication, project management and video technology.
The curricula for CS4 through CS6 are available for free download on the Adobe Education Exchange site.
