The Graphics.com Gallery

The Gallery provides a way for members of the Graphics.com site to create their own image "albums", and populate them with up to 50 examples of their own creative work. Once your images are uploaded into an album on the Graphics.com server, you can:
  • Add captions, descriptive text and links to your site.
  • Edit the thumbnail. Gallery comes with a small Java applet that lets you select a part of the image as the source for your thumbnail.
  • Rotate your image (in 90 degree increments).
  • Highlight an image (pick an image to represent the album in the main Gallery).
  • Reorder the images in the album.
  • Delete images.
  • Sort your album based on popularity, title, number of comments, etc.
As well, each album's appearance can be customized in a variety of ways. You can change the title, colors, background, fonts, and borders. You can also specify a target thumbnail size and a target intermediate image size (so that visitors with lesser bandwidth can view scaled versions of big images). The number of rows and columns in an album is customizable, as well as a variety of viewer options. Want feedback on your work? Visitors can add their comments on individual images for all to see. You can manage these comments or disable the comment feature, if you prefer.

How to Request an Image Area
If you'd like your own image area in the Gallery, first take a look at the images currently in the area in which you would like your area -- are your images on the same level, or better? Visitors come to the Gallery to see the polished work of talented designers. As such, we don't accept every request to create a new area. To request an image area, you need to first become a site member. Then send a brief email to us at , including your user name and indicating the kind of images you plan on adding to your album. You need to include a link to examples of your work or attach a sample image to your email (500kb max), as well as indicate what section your area would be in, such as Photoshop, Logos, Graphic Design, etc. If we decide to set up an area for you, we'll contact you within a week. If not, you won't hear from us.
