AbleStock Design Brief 11
Project: A cover design for the launch of a new magazine: New Food.
Client: The client is a publisher of lifestyle magazines that is hoping to capitalize on the growing interest in not just healthy, tasty food, but an approach to eating that is grounded in a preference for local products, created with a respect for the environment and in a sustainable fashion. New Food will focus on new trends in the production of raw ingredients, as well as the producers, chefs and restaurateurs that embody this philosophy. Content will include feature articles, columns from food experts and recipes from "new food" chefs.
Audience: The interest in "new food" is part of a lifestyle choice on the part of mostly well educated and relatively affluent consumers.
Design Requirements: The size of the cover design must be 568 pixels wide by 750 high. All creative aspects, including the choice of type, illustration(s) and masthead design, are left up to the designer, but the demographic of the intended reader should be kept in mind. Photos illustrating some of the feature articles in the inaugural issue have been provided, but alternative or supporting imagery from the stock.xchng site or other sources for which the designer has permission may also be used.
