Project: Business card and letterhead design for the Boston Entomological Society. Liquidlibrary Identity Challenge 6

Client: One of the oldest such societies in North America, for its upcoming 100th anniversary it has decided to provide itself with a new graphical identity.

Design Requirements: The Board of the Society has requested a fresh, colorful design with appeal to families, which it hopes to attract to its new museum, now under construction. However the design should not be whimsical or frivolous enough to undermine its reputation for scholarly work. An image containing stylized representations of some of the items in its collection has been provided, elements of which will be used in signage in the new museum.
