Study Hall Tattoo - www.TSCPgraphics.com (tscpgraphics)
Description:From: Eftelibra (Sat Apr 19 05:31:28 2008)
What a strange place for tattoos. :D Very nicely done though and I like the subtle addition of your initials into the image.

Very delicate and simple. Love the monochrome and desat colours. As a photographer I am a little disturbed by the sharp tattoo on out of focus flesh on the left edge, but that's being very literal minded of me. I have to admit that where you buried a couple of the bodies has got me beat............

NOTE: I adjusted the 'left edge' David mentioned. ~tscp

Sorry David; couldn't resist. Nice use of the images TSCP'. Your image made me think of the straw man from Wizard of Oz. I never considered skin. Not that white. I'm from Africa where the skins brown; very dark brown and brown even if you're white....oh but you guys have just come out of winter so there is a possibility. Hhmm!? Tanned skin rules unless you're one of the seven Dwarfs and Prince Charming. On second thoughts Snow White is a lush. Okay...Skin rules!:-) :-

First of all ... by "Study Hall Tattoos" ... I interpreted it not to be real tattoos but something that a kid drew on their knee out of boredom during study hall. A very talented kid at that. Second ... if it weren't for the hints of blue in this it would have passed as a b/w image. But with the blue there the skin really does need some flesh tones ... unless this kid died of boredom. Third ... the image itself is TOTALLY AWESOME ... I take my hat off to your creative mind and your ability to so adequately share your thoughts with us.

......exactly, THANKS Barb! This is 'pen/marker-art' on skin to pass the time away during study hall. As for adding color to the knee, I know professional photographers that do this effect for senior pics, the teenagers LOVE it! Skin tones B&W, only the clothes or one element in color. See my [Selective Coloring] section on my site under: "Photo Retouching" ~tscp

Original image was made B&W, masked out the knee on the color layer then added another B&W overlay with the opacity at 30% ~tscp

original image is: 7774477 then added the lockers: 10014439. Both from Photos.com stock images. ~tscp

David, "buried bodies??" ...not sure I am following. A little concerned about your thoughts. This was simply Boredom in Study Hall ...nothing more. Curious, would a "double exposure" be possible with the camera? I like showing the details...I soften the far left of the knee to make it out of focus. Did you have the hiccups when you 'double' posted? ha!

Eftelibra & Dennis...Thanks for the posts! Everyone, GREAT submits this month! PLEASE forgive if I do not make it to everyone. ~tscp

...since the change was so minor, decided no need to have both posted. ~tscp

From: DavidMac (DavidMac)   (Sun Apr 20 10:07:34 2008)
Sorry - it's a phrase used when someone knows a secret you don't. "He knows where the bodies are buried." In this instance the "buried bodies" I couldn't find were some of the other images.

Thanks for the reply David. I understand now. I thought because there was a rip in the jeans, you pictured me with a shovel...you get the idea. ha! As for those images 'hidden within' I will eventually post details on my site revealing them. ...Did you notice the edge is out-of-focus from the original? Should it be blurred more? ~tscp

From: DavidMac (DavidMac)   (Sun Apr 20 15:42:05 2008)
The new blur really does help the "marriage" of tattoo and flesh. As for rips in jeans and shovels .... what can I say ..... LOL!! I see from your website that I have found a fellow Mac user. Nice to know there's other people out there with good sense ;^))

From: mellowdesign (mellowdesign)   (Mon Apr 21 13:01:23 2008)

How the heck you managed to do this, I just don't know. Very well done...

From: www.TSCPgraphics.com (tscpgraphics)   (Wed Apr 23 17:59:16 2008)
::mellow & David...other MAC users, yeah! ;) To kiwi2, oh I wish I could give you the 'short' answer to this. I always try to put a recap of my entries on my website. Eventually, I'll have a page for this entry. I will attempt to explain "...how did I do that?" I started that with last months entry. Thanks again to everyone for the kind compliments, I enjoy the feedback! ~tscp

THANK YOU everyone! I now have my 'how did i do that' on my site. Journal: (may.05) Photos.com Challenge ...I know kiwi2 was curious. Also for David, my new favorite saying... "where you buried the bodies." I have revealed them for you. Feel free to post comments on the journals on my site if you have questions. MANY thanks to everyone involved with making this possible! :) ~tscp

From: Joe E (popeslattz)   (Mon May 5 20:02:08 2008)

Joe, Thank you! You are just as welcomed as the Mac users. :) p.s. David is the one who figured out I was 'mac-based' from my website. ~tscp
