 Gary David Bouton
These pieces were created between 2006 and the present, using modo, Photoshop, Cinema 4D, Xara, and other tools. Currently I'm immersed in digital video, special effects and composing original music using digital audio tools. In fact, I'll have a book published by Thomson out soon on DV and Photoshop Extended. Retouching Motion Pictures in Photoshop I hope you have fun in this gallery and hopefully my ditty here explains the correlation between having diverse interests and being somewhat of a scatterbrain. Like just about everyone else, my work and services are for sale; no assignment is too small, no fee is too small: The Detailing Shop at TheBoutons.com

1 Rickenbacker 320 in burled maple Artwork © 2008 Gary David Bouton Rickenbacker design © RIC U.S.A. I used to own a reverse hardware Rick 4001 in maple with a matte finish; RIC USA has never released a 6 string commercial in this finish...so this is sort of a "dream visualization". - 4 voters (5.00) BAR
2 Tough Audience © 2006 Gary David Bouton This was a birthday card I sent to a bud who's a guitarist and whose nickname is...well, you guess. Modeled and rendered in Cinema 4D on quite a number of layers; post work was extensive to try to get a foggy moodiness, using PS. If the Gibson Flying V is recognizable, its design is © Gibson USA. - 3 voters (5.00) BAR

Rickenbacker released a bass guitar in this finish, but never a 6-string. So I did :)

zoLo

ZoLo is a child's building set; also fun to sculpt and render! Nothing to knock over and break this way :)

Let's Go To The Shoppe
Artwork © 2009 Gary David Bouton

This is truly a mixed media piece: I used Xara Xtreme as extensively as I did Cinema 4D to finish it. Rock around the clock! :)

Violin
Artwork © 2009 Gary David Bouton

This is mixed media: I sculpted the violin in Cinema 4D, but after the render, I did a lot of post retouching in Xara Xtreme and a little here and there with PS.

More of a study in composition than anything else—I was trying to imitate the look of a magazine layout.

Pawn and Rook

I ignored the use of color in the piece, just to highlight a study in geometry and tones. Then I used Painter to soften the overall appearance a little. And I do not play chess.*

Very Relaxed Ice Cream

The scene is actually animated; the little guys are doing a rumba. I created it using modo and Mudbox—it's an insert CGI for a music video.

It's a very olde children's game, with somewhat dire consequences...

Serious Magic

This is a hybrid piece; part Xara drawing, and mostly Luxology modo. I needed a print ad for the book I wrote this past summer.

Modeled with Cinema 4D, rendered using modo 301, some post work in Photoshop with 55mm tools.

It's a goof! It's a goof! Everyone is rendering preVis product with lots of glass and chrome and deliberately awful lighting these days, so me, too. :)
