Photoshop Fundamentals: Enhance the Illusion of Motion

Launch Photoshop and open the desired image file. We used the one at right. Using the Lasso tool (L), draw a selection as closely as possible around the arae to which you want to give the sense of motion. Press Q to enter Quick Mask Mode. Choose Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur. Use the options in the resulting Gaussian Blur dialog box and click OK.
Choose Filter > Brush Strokes > Sprayed Strokes. Use the options in the resulting Sprayed Strokes dialog box and click OK.
Press Q to exit Quick Mask Mode. Choose Select > Inverse (Command + Shift + I). Choose Filter > Blur > Radial Blur. Use the options in the resulting Radial Blur dialog box and click OK. Choose Select > Deselect (Command + D).
