Launch InDesign. Choose File > New > Document (Command + N). For Page Size, select Letter and click OK. Select the Rectangle Frame tool (F) and option-click the center of the document. Use the options in the resulting Rectangle dialog box and click OK. Choose Object > Corner Effects. Use the options in the resulting Corner Effects dialog box and click OK.

Press Shift and draw a 1-in. square. Choose Edit > Select All (Command + A). Press Shift + F7 to show the Align palette. Click the Align Left Edges and Align Top Edges buttons. Choose Object > Group (Command + G). Press Shift and draw another 1-in. square. Choose Edit > Select All (Command + A). Click the Align Right Edges and Align Bottom Edges buttons.

Choose Object > Ungroup (Command + Shift + G). Choose Window > Object & Layout > Pathfinder and click the Add button (below). Choose File > Place (Command + D), select file, choose the desired image file and click Open. Choose Edit > Deselect All (Command + Shift + A). Press W to view in Preview mode.
