Increase Exposure Without Overexposing Highlights in Photoshop Elements

Open the image for editing.
				
Duplicate the current layer and change the blending mode to Screen.
				
Select the canvas (Ctrl+A), copy merged (Shift+Ctrl+C), and paste as a new layer (Ctrl+V).
				
Delete the middle layer (Layer > Delete Layer) and change the blending mode of the top layer to Difference.
				
Select the canvas (Ctrl+A), copy merged (Shift+Ctrl+C), and paste as a new layer (Ctrl+V).
				
Delete the middle layer (Layer > Delete Layer) and change the blending mode of the top layer to Soft Light.
