The latest version of e frontier's 3D modeling and rendering software is available free to users of version 8.
Positioned as a 3D graphics toolkit for designers, illustrators and architects, Shade is employed for such tasks as creating architectural designs and renderings, product designs, development prototypes and character models. Modeling tools such as Bézier-based sketching and mesh editing are used in the design process, with the ability to create photorealistic results via the rendering engine, as well as walk-throughs. Shade also provides animation capabilities and the ability to import and work with Poser files.
New functionality in 8.5 includes the ability to import and export sound files; QuickTime VR export for panoramic or object movie creation; a plugin for creating advanced fog effects; an improved user interface; and the inclusion of 690 pieces from the Shade Content Collection 3: Cars and Transport.
Shade 8.5 can be purchased for $199.99 on the e frontier site, with the Pro version priced at $899.99. Trial versions are available for download.
