Mac: Expertools Professional 3 for Mac Available as Public Beta
Posted on Tuesday, March 09
Designed for high-end exporting and printing of multiple Adobe InDesign and QuarkXPress documents, Exportools Professional 3.0 is said to be the first add-on for InDesign and QuarkXPress built with 64-bit code, thereby boosting overall performance and stability.

When dealing with long, complex documents, it's not uncommon to have to save and export the contents of individual pages into separate files, for applications such as remote printing, imposition, archiving or for general portability requirements. To the rescue comes Badia Exportools, which automates the process of generating dozens or hundreds of files. To keep track of all these, the plugin provides the ability to generate file names that include variables, such as page or serial numbers, which increment automatically and can be combined with other text to create meaningful filenames.

Exportools can also generate high-resolution output to EPS, PostScript and PDF formats, with the latter two providing the ability to use any InDesign defined preset. Control is provided over which pages to export and whether these should be as single pages or spreads. In addition, the plugin can extract document text or produce images of each page for archiving or cataloguing.

New in version 3 is real-time preflighting; live errors and warning; post processing and marking of files; profiles for different projects; and custom file lists and watched folders.

The demo version of Exportools Professional 3 can be downloaded on the Badia site. Pre-orders can be purchased until March 31, 2010.
