The subscription option is now available in addition to individual image downloads.
Jupitermedia's Photos.com site was a pioneer in establishing the viability of the subscription model for acquiring royalty-free stock photos. Jupitermedia has since extended this model to such sites as AbleStock.com, Comstock Complete and Jupiterimages.com, as well as for other content types on Clipart.com, Animation Factory and RoyaltyFreeMusic.com.
Stockxpert, launched in 2005, is operated by HAAP Media, a subsidiary of Jupiterimages. Stockxpert differs from other Jupitermedia stock content sites by being based on a community-driven model, in which members contribute a wide range of royalty-free photos, illustrations and 3D renderings. The community aspect is reinforced both onsite, by such things as discussion forums and contests, and by offsite member meetings. The site currently hosts more than 500,000 images, with over 10,000 new ones added each week.
Subscriptions are available for one month, three months and one year, and allow subscribers to download up to 25 images per day at resolutions up to 50MB. The subscription service was added to serve the needs of high-volume microstock image buyers. According to Alan M. Meckler, Chairman and CEO of Jupitermedia Corporation, "Staying close to our customers' needs and market developments is essential in the digital content business and we're excited to offer this new image subscription service on Stockxpert.com." |
