The competition is said to be the only one with a worldwide focus that's exclusively for Photoshop users.
The National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP) has announced a call for entries for its annual competition, with images accepted in the following categories: General Photography; Illustration; Artistic; Photo Restoration; Wedding and Portrait; Landscape and Travel; Photo Retouching; Advertising Design; Composites and Collages; Student Work; and General Photoshop Design.
Third party plugins and other applications may be used to create the artwork, but the primary tool for the creation of the entry must be Photoshop. Judging will be conducted by NAPP's creative team, as well as other industry experts.
Category winners receive a prize package valued at $2,500, with their image appearing in a special issue of Photoshop User magazine. The Best of Show Grand Prize winner will be sent by the magazine on a "dream assignment" to Maui, Hawaii, which includes roundtrip airfare, hotel accommodations, hotel transfers and daily expenses, with the winning image appearing on a cover of the publication. The image above by Susi Lawson was a previous Grand Prize winner.
More information and an entry form is available on the PhotoshopUserAwards.com site, as well as previous winners. The deadline for entries is December 31, 2007. |
