A new Windows raster-to-vector conversion program claims superior results and unique functionality.
With a background in CAD application development, Elgorithms would seem to be well-suited for creating a tool for converting raster (typically scanned) images into vector (DXF) format. While vector drawing tools provide such integrated conversion abilities, and standalone tools already exist, the conversion process by definition can never be perfect, leaving room for improvements in speed, accuracy and flexibility.
Designed for use by architects, sign makers and graphic artists, MagicTracer is unusual in providing the ability to edit both the orginal raster and traced vector versions of an image, and supplying an overlay mode that allows users to view both simultaneously. The resulting DXF files can be imported and edited by most vector drawing applications, such as Adobe Illustrator.
MagicTracer can be purchased for $49.95 on the MagicTracer site. A trial version is also available for download. |
