Win/Mac: ACD Systems Announces Canvas X for Technical Graphics
Posted on Monday, March 21
Last updated as version 9, Canvas X lays claim to being the "only cross-platform fully integrated graphics application."

Designed for the creation, enhancement, presentation and distribution of technical illustrations and graphics, Canvas X is at heart a vector graphics illustration application. However it goes beyond that by adding functionality to extend its flexibility in a corporate, engineering-driven environment. It supports over 100 file formats, including DXF and DWG, making it suitable for combining vector and bitmap images and then exporting the resulting image as encrypted PDFs with password protection. Double-clicking on an image places the user in a photo-editing environment, providing such functionality as color adjustment, cloning and sharpening. Annotation, markup and redlining tools are also included, to allow users to make and share comments within the same document.

Canvas X, for Mac and Windows, can be purchased on the ACD Systems site for $399.99. Demo versions are also available for download.
