Posted on Thursday, January 09
Macworld Conference and Expo, San Francisco, CA -- Extensis has announced the release of Mask Pro 3, a significant upgrade to Extensis' award winning masking and selection tools for Adobe Photoshop. This latest release of Mask Pro uses advanced color matching and decontamination technology, giving users the ability to create flawless real-life masks. A Mac version will be available in February and a Windows version will be released mid-year 2003.

Both versions can be purchased through the Extensis website at http://www.extensis.com/maskpro and other sales channels. Extensis is located at the Macworld Expo in booth number 2223.

"Mask Pro 3 is a complete suite of professional masking tools ready to tackle any masking challenge," said Lisa McCormack, Mask Pro product manager for Extensis. "These tools can be mixed and matched as the individual needs of the user and the image dictate. By allowing users to view masking results on the fly, Mask Pro 3 has provided the flexible and powerful toolset users demand for quality image compositing."

Top Features in Mask Pro 3

  • Color Decontamination for improved edge transparency – This new feature greatly improves masking of semi-transparent objects like hair, smoke or glass without sacrificing the quality of the image.
  • Enhanced Touchup Tools and Controls – New blur and chisel tools provide users with powerful global and local control of mask edges.
  • Keep/Drop Highlighting – Easy-to-use highlighter tools let users quickly define areas to keep and drop from the image.
  • Most advanced color-matching technology available – Improved color-matching technology creates masks based on keep/drop color areas generating the most accurate and color-correct masks.
  • Real-time preview –Unlike any other masking product on the market, Mask Pro 3 allows users to view results on the fly.

"Mask Pro 3 is a powerful Plug-in for Adobe Photoshop 7.0," said Michael Hopwood, senior director of Digital Imaging at Adobe Systems. "It extends Photoshop's already powerful masking capabilities, allowing users to manipulate their images with greater precision and control."
