Win/Mac: Poser® 5 Content Paradise Goes Live
Posted on Monday, November 18
Santa Cruz, CA -- Curious Labs, Inc. announces today that Content Paradise is now live in Poser 5. Content Paradise will enable Poser 5 users to search and browse a rich database of Poser content, then purchase and download their selected items. Curious Labs has partnered with Renderosity to provide the first collection of 3rd party content. Other prominent 3D content brokers have signed on to the Content Paradise system and will be adding their content collections later this year.

“The market that has grown up around Poser, building and sharing content is quite a phenomenon.” said Steve Cooper, president of Curious Labs. “It’s a robust market with a great number of talented artists building their own online storefronts or working with large scale brokers that resell content to Poser users. Content Paradise provides a communal business model, much like the traditional farmer’s markets that sell produce and fresh foods in cities around the world. A large, centrally located open space is shared by a number of small producers, selling from their small independent stores. Content Paradise provides an open market space inside Poser 5 and will enable content developers access to every Poser 5 user.”

Content Paradise key features include:
  • An easy-to-use interface lets users quickly find, choose, purchase and download custom Poser content.
  • Customizable search engine allows users to search multiple 3D content stores at the same time.
  • Works with the Poser 5 Download Manager to automatically download and install content without leaving Poser. Manual content installation is also supported.
  • Content Paradise is available in Poser 5’s Content Room and via the Web: www.contentparadise.com
  • Personal accounts let users track all of their purchased content, (from all partner sites), from one central location.
  • Content Paradise provides the marketplace for content developers to quickly reach new Poser users that may never discover online content resources.

Content Paradise is an HTML window in Poser 5 that logs onto the Content Paradise home page. The home page contains a search engine, and users can fine tune their search with parameters that include the artist name, content type, price, keywords, or even where the content is hosted. The searched database is a collection of content descriptions and images provided by the content creator. Actual purchase of the content is managed by the 3rd party partners that process the transaction and manage transfer of the content to the user.

Renderosity, the largest independent art community focusing on Poser has created a rich content brokerage system. Many 2D and 3D community artists have built successful businesses brokering content to the Poser community. These brokered artists will see new distribution opportunities for their content via the Content Paradise market.

Other market partners that have agreed to participate in the Content Paradise market are bbay, TurboSquid and Virtualchemy. RuntimeDNA, a provider of much of the content that ships in Poser 5, will also be participating.
