San Jose, CA -- Adobe Systems Incorporated, the leader in network publishing, today announced an update of the Adobe® Digital Video Collection. Now compatible with Macintosh OS X and Microsoft® Windows® XP, this powerful editing suite delivers a set of tightly integrated, cost-effective, award-winning Adobe applications for professional digital video production.
The Adobe Digital Video Collection 8.0 has been updated to include the recently announced Adobe Premiere® 6.5 software, as well as the latest versions of Adobe After Effects®, Adobe Photoshop® and Adobe Illustrator® software. Sharing the familiar Adobe-standard user interface and common tools, palettes and commands, the Adobe Digital Video Collection gives users the creative control and power to put their visual ideas into motion. In addition, it allows for output to media such as film, video, multimedia, DVD and the Web.
"With its tightly integrated set of tools and an unbelievable price, the Adobe Digital Video Collection is the one stop solution for anyone who wants to edit digital video with professional results," said Bryan Lamkin, senior vice president of Graphics for Adobe. "With the addition of Adobe Premiere 6.5, the collection has all of the tools needed to complete a professional video project on the desktop from start to finish."
Adobe Premiere 6.5, Adobe's digital video editing software, provides a powerful editing environment for the creation and delivery of professional, polished video productions. New Real-time Preview capabilities allow video editors to see titles, transitions and effects instantly so they can view their changes before rendering. This dramatically improves productivity by reducing the time spent rendering projects. Editors can also use the new Adobe Title Designer to enhance their projects with broadcast-quality title sequences. New flexible export options allow editors to render projects into MPEG2 files from the Adobe Premiere timeline with the Adobe MPEG Encoder, and author DVDs through integration with the latest Macintosh and Windows DVD authoring applications.
Pricing and Availability
The Adobe Digital Video Collection is available at an estimated street price of US$1,249 and can be purchased from Adobe.com and Adobe authorized resellers. By purchasing these Adobe products as a collection, users receive a significant savings over the cost of purchasing each product separately.
