I see that Luc's little helper is in Chef mode at present. This is for him.

A few weeks ago I acquired on of the lovely iconic old early iMacs G4's for 100 euros (about $120). It is now installed in my kitchen as I am slowly starting to digitise all my own recipes and have a large collection of recipes and video demonstrations downloaded from the web. Although the capabilities of a machine that is now almost ten years old has certain limits it is more than adequate for this purpose. It is networked to the MacPro in my workroom so I can prepare everything there in comfort and then simply send it over the network for storage in the kitchen machine. Original keyboard and mouse have been removed to avoid clutter and a small bluetooth keyboard and mouse live in a nearby drawer.

So there we are ....... my very own kitchen Wall E. icon_cool.gif

To justify its presence in a graphics forum here is a screenshot. A spicy desktop with special David Mac created foodie icons for launching the indexes to the various types of recipes.

Just two weeks after installing it all Ingrid came across this .... http://www.qooq.com/en

Its a French creation. The ultimate digital foodie gadget! I think it's a brilliant concept. Pity about the red ........ now if they had one in stainless ....... ?!!? icon_wink.gif

Buy one for your little helper Luc? There's a French language version as well.

All the best to you all. Life is quiet here at present. So I have been catching up on a zillion neglected house hold bits and pieces.

I must say that old Mac looks right at home there. And when it comes to kitchen gadgets, the French do have a certain flair, although that one seems a tad pricey.

Yes. It does fall in the luxury category. I am also nervous that the indestructible French belief that no other cuisine is equal to their own may heavily bias the content ........ icon_wink.gif

Lobbying for prizes is all the rage, I hear. In any case, the UNESCO award was a weird one, not awarded for French cuisine itself but for the French "meal" as some kind of cultural event. I blame Sarkozy for meddling in this.

Well, after all, he is very French. A neon sign "Français" on his forehead wouldn't be any clearer than his looks and personality. icon_lol.gif

Actually, I'm not the only one to find Sarkozy not French at all. After all, he makes a point of never drinking wine.

Appearance, mannerisms and manners,
'De rigeur' to promenaders and 'flaneurs',
Made Paris never so rosy
As when strolling with Monsieur Sarkozy.

Rather more Edward Lear than Noël Coward I am afraid ..........

Talking foodies: upgraded my kitchen (nothing like yours) with KitchenAid Oven and KitchenAid Convection and Microwave oven - the type you set in the wall. And a new Thermador cooking top 26 in wide with 5 cooking surface plus a bridge for grilling. I wished I could have gone to gas, but non in my area (yet) and I don't want huge bomb outside the wall.

A year ago, I replaced my aging 11-year old PowerBook G4 for a MacBook Pro 17 in.

Did a few more vacation trips to Spain and Mexico.

Still working in the medical field.

Wife is starting her business as a writer/editor and consultant in social media. (http://www.alisoncummings.com)

How are you doing, more projects? Your wife, how's her business going?

BTW, nice to talk to you!
