IDVD for Mac

I am totally frustrated that I-DVD no longer comes on the new MAC operating system. Does anyone know of another option that is like I-DVD? Also...does anyone know of an option that won't break my bank account?

Is there a way to burn DVD's on the new mac operating system...to include chapters...Can you do it in I-Movie?

Do you have the installation disc from an earlier OS X which does contain iDVD? It may still be compatible. A number of now unsupported apps such as the old iWeb still run fine under Lion and Mountain Lion.

Apple started releasing their old bundled extras from iWork and iLife (which I think contained iDVD) as individual apps as for purchase at the AppStore. Might be worth checking there if you haven't already.

This may seem like a rather self evident silly suggestion but have you tried a web search under "DVD burner OS X"? I am sure there are several out there.. You could try adding the word "freeware". There may well be something free as well.

Here is an excellent starting point for MacWare of all kinds http://www.pure-mac.com. Probably the best site on the web for tracking down Mac apps both commercial, shareware and freeware. All categorised for easy searching.
