this article is providing a base to the new photographers.. hard work is really very important in any field of life.. but i would say that inspiration is better then to compare you with any competitor. because if you go with your inspiration then you will generate a wonder. and if you want to compete with the competitor then it may damages your work... i agree with your point of think about your competitor because a stage comes when your work is so much perfect that u may follow the sense of competition... as for as basics are concern, this article is perfect... what to think? what to follow? what to do ? But photography is just like a meditation. you sit for a while and think that what do you want.. and then you start working on it.. so inspiration and you mind set count a lot ... u must guide us about the framing. how to capture any object that may elaborates what u want the observers to think.
