Caught, can I get a witness?

Greetings. This is the fourteenth Photo Safari where the goal is to get your digital camera, film camera, your scanners, your webcams, your pinhole cameras, your cellphone cameras and whatever else you can think of that will take a photo and you can post it here at Graphics.com all to get you out and photograph random things.

The rules are quite simple:
  • Once per two weeks or so an item, or items, will be posted in the Digital Photography Forum.
  • You will go out and get a picture of the items with only one objective... to make sure the picture shows what you're seeing.
  • That's it.
  • Seriously. That's it... it's all about showing how you see things to the Graphics.com community/world.

I love the simple rules... allows you so much room to do whatever you wish!

If you haven't read it yet, please take the time to read the Digital Photography FAQ on how to post up your images. However, if you have any questions, feel free to ask them and I'll gladly assist you. Who knows, perhaps there's areas I missed on the FAQ. It happens...

So without further delay, the fourteenth Photo Safari will consist of a cool, sometimes elusive theme... Action and Movement. Caught in the act? Moving uphill slowly? A leaf falling down? Driving too fast to make out the trees alongside the road? Something that might move? Big objects, small objects, up close to objects, or just things that move, might move, will have moved. Be creative, remember that action can still be in focus. And that you can feel free to move too... so get up, get out, take those snaps!

Feel free to take on the idea anyway you see fit... and that's just a start.

I really mean it. Anyway you see fit.

Photo Safari 14:
  • Action and Movement

Feel free to experiment, play around, post anything; please keep it civil guys!

Just be creative... and post as many times as you'd wish! And have fun... that's the goal.

Note: Per usual, I should post something. I hope to see you guys do the same.

Does this qualify? My husband Bruce (bigbruce to all you graphics.com members) shot these at the end of the pool season last summer. He was trying to get some big splash images to put on the pools website http://www.glendalepool.info ... One of the kids was kind enough to do cannonballs off the diving board for him ... click on images to enlarge ... Barb

Yep, I'd say they qualify very well. The second shot especially - I can feel the splash from here. Love the colour of the water.

Mine is on a watery theme too. Taken in a park earlier this week. icon_smile.gif

Hi Efte ... I love that picture ... that park looks like lots of fun and the perfect place to be on a hot summer day. I'd be right in there with the kids getting wet. I just got home from about a 2 hour dip in the pool. Figured I'd take a break from the sun and then go back after supper for one more dip, providing it's not raining ... there is a chance of storms later today.

barb that definitely is an action shot and eftelibra, so is the kids playing in the park and it tells of a long hot summer!!! LOVELY image with fresh colours!!!!

the reason i came up with action shots as a subject, is because is because of the image below...i caught that in new zealand and only adjusted the levels,(i read about levels the other day) it was pretty overcast that day... it didnt bother the kids though!!!

A very nice action shot Siggi. Its amazing how much movement can be caught in a still photo.

Kids often don't seem to notice the weather. Although it was a beautiful sunny day on Tuesday when I took my photo there was a very cold wind blowing, but nobody seemed to care.

Hey Siggi ... we could use your image as the before shot for Bruces big splash images.

Speaking of water. It's raining here now and it should continue until some time tomorrow afternoon or evening. That's okay ... everything was so dry. We really need the rain and it smells so good.

Later ... Barb

And this one I like too, The Maori people have these cool outrigger races, they call it Waka Ama.

WOW Jos ... that a whole lot of seagulls. I wouldn't want to be beneath them when they flew over. The blue mountains in the background are amazing.

The Waka Ama outrigger racers is also a great shot. My back hurts just looking at them.

Thanks for sharing these ... Barb

LMAO - but they do say 'Muck for Luck' (well, its a saying in the UK - maybe not in the US or NZ) icon_lol.gif

Jos - as ever, brilliant pictures. I love the seagulls and the blue mountains look like a watercolour picture. Beautiful. Also like the picture of the outrigger races, you can see the effort they are putting in, even in a still photo.

Thanks guys!

Seems like quite a few of you are having puter íssues. Damn their little round eyes or whatever the have.
I really like keeping my machine running well, I enjoy the challenge I guess. Usually while I'm not using it, I let it do a defrag or use a reg cleaner. It all helps. Deleting and/or saving stuff to cd or dvd is always good to stop the machine from filling up. They like at least a quarter of the drive free. You can check that by right clicking a drive letter and going to properties.
