This is very cool. If anyone wants more particulars and details refer to: http://graphics.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1833

I just got back in from dealing with umpteen models, videographers, photographers, businesstypes, gofers, tailors, sound set ups and general madness - and will be dealing with it the rest of the week at the very least, but I WILL post a tute here on my fire - promise.

Author Greg says: "This sequence employs a great, hidden, feature of Liquify that allows you to save and load a distortion mesh. With this enhancement Liquify becomes a much more functional distortion tool that offers multiple levels of control that would not be available without it."

View the tutorial.

My results from the last tutorial wasn't actually bad.

Ugh. Mine wasn't bad but nothing like the authors. Okay I'll post it. Tried reworking it but my "tweaks" results weren't what I wanted but here it is. I'm going to have to work with this one some more to get it right I'm thinking.

WOW - well I think that's brilliant. It looks hotter than the original, perhaps because the flames are thicker. The one with the finer typeface looks like a flickering type of flame. This one looks blazing hot. Its an excellent first attempt. icon_smile.gif

Tecetera I agree with Eftelibra, with the heavier font the heavier fire looks really good. I think you did a great job

Thanks you two. I wasn't sure about it since the lettering shows thru too clearly, imo.

What I really liked about his was the darker edges to some of the flames. Ah well practice makes perfect they say. icon_smile.gif

I'll go try vooties first find sometime this wwke and post results. Come on Eftelibra and 1olddawg give the tutes a try and see what you get. icon_smile.gif

Hopefully Athyrius's workload slows down enough for him/her? to post that promised tutorial.

Hey found a link on the other forum I spend alot of time on. That lead me to this tutorial. http://www.good-tutorials.com/track/7999

As an addendum to this tute. I didn't use the difference clouds filter quite as many times as suggested, only about 5 or 6 rather than 20. I then duplicated my layer and ran difference clouds on it once. Then changed the new layer's mode to Overlay.

Next go click on your original layer, and go to Layer, New Adjustment layer, Hue/Saturation and using these settings.

You may wish to tweak them according to your own color preferences.

This is the result I got from it. Hope you like it.

Nice chemical fire, eh?

Your fire looked hotter than a ... nm- but it looks GREAT. I am getting into photoshop as we speak and will have a tute on this posted by the morning. And I am a 'her' icon_smile.gif Isn't it funny that on here it doesn't realy even matter?
