DesignThinkers Conference Set for November in Toronto

The latest iteration of the annual graphic design conference, now in its 17th year, will once again aid attendees to learn new skills, expand their knowledge and prepare for a future in which they'll tackle increasingly complex challenges. The conference was launched in 2000 by The Association of Registered Graphic Designers, which represents more than 3,000 graphic designers, managers, educators and students across Canada, and works to establish and promote professional standards and best practices in the graphic design industry.

During the two-day event, which attracts more than 2,000 attendees and is described as "Canada’s largest conference for visual communicators," leading practitioners will delve into industry trends from a range of communications-related disciplines including design, user experience, advertising, branding, consumer engagement, film, social media and entrepreneurship, via four streams devoted to Inspiration, Strategy, Trends and Interactions. David Carson, Cory Doctorow, Stefan G. Bucher and Steven Heller are amongst the thirty speakers.

Information and registration is available on the site, with members of partner organizations, such as Icograda, eligible for discounts. This year's conference will be held at the Sony Centre in Toronto, November 3-4. The clip below is from Matteo Bologna's presentation at the 2013 event, Branding from a Type Nerd Point of View.
