Communication Arts 2017 Design Competition
There are lots of design competitions out there, but Communication Arts can lay claim to one of the oldest, with 1959 marking its start in the publication of collections of top global work in visual communications. It currently runs six competitions: Interactive, Typography, Advertising, Design, Photography and Illustration. It's no cakewalk getting into the printed annuals but that very selectivity is what makes getting included so desirable, especially since the contact information for the winners is included in the Communication Arts Design Annual, in print and on the iPad, and on the commarts.com site. Winning entrants will also receive a personalized Award of Excellence milled from solid aluminum, as well as award certificates issued for firms, individuals and clients.
Any design project printed, published or aired for the first time from May 2016 through May 2017 is eligible, with the available categories including Packaging, Identity, Integrated Branding Program, Business Papers, Company Literature, Poster/Design, Editorial, Books, Self-Promotion, Motion Graphics, Public Service, Environmental Graphics, Miscellaneous/Design and Student Work. The deadline for entry is May 5, 2017. More information is provided on the Communication Arts site, as well as galleries of past winners.
