Call for Entries: Art Directors Club Annual Awards
The ADC was founded in New York in 1920 and acts as a not-for-profit organization with an international membership in visual communications. Its mission is to honor and inspire excellence in advertising and design, bring together creative leaders across the boundaries of their disciplines, and encourage the next generation of innovators. It organizes an ongoing series of events, with the ADC Annual Awards of Art + Craft in Advertising and Design, now in its 94th year, being perhaps the most well known. Entries by professionals and students can be entered in a wide varietities of categories and subcategories, such as Branded Content & Entertainment, Social Content, Mobile, Poster Design, Typography and Commercial Illustration. Somewhat confusingly, or perhaps not, this marks the first year that entries for the ADC Tomorrow Awards and ADC Young Guns are also being accepted simultaneously.
As well as bestowing Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merit winners, the ADC honors select companies and individuals with several special awards. Designism acknowledges the work of creatives that drives social and political change through their work; the ADC Black Cube goes to entries in the Design, Digital and Advertising categories, and is decided upon by a unanimous jury vote. Then there are the awards for Agency of the Year, Network of the Year, Design Team of the Year, Interactive Agency of the Year, Client of the Year, Production Company of the Year, and School of the Year.
The ADC Call for Entries and an online registration form is available on the adcawards.org site. The entry deadline for professional entries varies with the category, with the requirement that entries must have been printed, published, aired or broadcast live online for the first time between February 8, 2014 and February 6, 2015.
The ADC Annual Awards + Festival of Art and Craft in Advertising and Design will be held once again in Miami Beach, this time on April 27–29, 2015, with the Awards ceremonies and other activities taking place at the Vizcaya Musuem and Gardens, as well as the New World Center. Winning work will be exhibited in Miami and in subsequent ADC exhibitions and publications.
